The President needs his speeches edited

There are times I wonder if Mr. President is not tired of the many insults piled on him by Nigerians. He keeps coming up with sentences from out of nowhere.

He has made news again with his most recent declaration that the Occupy Nigeria protest in January was sponsored by some unnamed class of people. Who are these ‘unnamed’ people that the PRESIDENT is scared of mentioning? How can he say the protest was not a true reflection of the position of the masses but those behind them when the average Nigerian felt the pinch of the hike in the price of fuel?

He was quoted also as saying ‘The demonstration in Lagos, people were given bottled water that people in my village don’t have access to. People were given expensive food that the ordinary people in Lagos cannot eat. So even going to eat free alone attracts people. They go and hire the best musicians to come and play and the best comedian to come and entertain. Is that demonstration?’…

Reading that statement, I am forced to concur with someone who commented on one of the radio stations in Lagos this morning. He said that Goodluck Jonathan ought to be ashamed that the people he governs/leads can be lured or bribed with bottled water and food. It goes a long way to tell people in other countries the sort of country he governs. One where people are so poor, that they can’t afford good water and ‘expensive’ food.

I didn’t participate in the protest but I felt every single pain that drove the protesters to the streets. Price of food items sky-rocketed, with the absence of constant electricity, running the generator set was costing an arm and a leg; the bus drivers had a field day with the doubled transport fares.

And the President said the demonstration was not the true position of the masses?

He needs to sleep for a few days because a lot of issues are obstructing his speech from coming out appropriately (No insult intended) or better still, have his speech read through again and again and edited.
