A middle age man, Lukman Adebayo, on Friday appeared before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates' Court charged with stealing money belonging to a police corporal.

The Prosecutor, Mr Taiwo Adegoke, told the court that the accused sometimes in April, in Osogbo, stole N105,000, property of Cpl Robert Asibor.

Adegoke said that the offence was punishable under section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol 11 Laws of Osun. 2003.

Adebayo pleaded not guilty to the one count charge and his counsel, Mr Idris Saidi, orally applied for his bail.

Chief Magistrate Adewumi Makanjuola, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety, who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.

Makanjuola added that the surety should swear to an affidavit of means and that he should deposit two passport photographs with the court.

He adjourned the case to Oct. 8, for hearing.
