13-year-old boy rapes 12-year-old girl

Again, another act that proves the world is indeed in chaos whether we admit it or not. What are the factors that will make an adolescent prone to this sort of act?

Lack of proper upbringing? Exposure to adult related content?

The story below:

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested and charged before a Juvenile Court in Osogbo for allegedly having canal knowledge of a 12-year-old girl.

According to the charge sheet number MOS/607c/2012, it was stated that the teenager on Sept. 18, at about 7 p.m. at Oleyo Street in Osogbo did unlawfully have canal knowledge of the girl.

It was also stated that the boy did unlawfully and indecently assaulted the little girl and that the offences contravened section 218 and 360 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11 Laws of Osun 2003.

The sitting of the Juvenile Court was, however, held behind closed doors.

What sort of punishment is realistic for this offence?
